Inflation for the period January - May 2008 compared to the same period of the last year is 13.9%, reported NIS.
In May compared to April the most serious increased was recorded in the following goods and services:
* Alcoholic beverages and tobacco - an increase of 3.2%;
* Transport - an increase of 3.2%;
* Restaurants and hotels - an increase of 0.6%;
In education and healthcare prices maintain their levels from the previous month.
During the month rice had the biggest increase - 14.7%, fresh and frozen fruits - 15.8%, carrots - 1.4%, beans - 2.8%, lentils - 3.2%.
In the groups of non-food goods and services in May prices of liquid fuels for household purposes have increased by 8.1 percent, automobile gasoline A95N - by 6.6 percent, automobile gasoline A98N - by 5.7 percent, propane-butane gas for LTS - by 2.8%, diesel fuel - by 7.6%, bus transport between villages - by 2.2%, public transport inside villages - by 2.3%, movies, theatres and other - by 4.5%.
