20-year concession for the Central mineral baths

Sofia Municipal Council decided to grant concession of Central mineral baths.
During the voting there were none against or abstaining.
Opening of the procedure for granting concession of the baths for a period of 20 years is imminent.
The historical monument will be converted into wellness and spa center with total area of 5 603 square meters. Three restaurants will operate on this area.
The initial proposal for a concession fee of no less than BGL 500 000 was voted to be increased to 750 000 leva.
Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov said that accepts any decision about years and price, because in his words - " it is not possible that the profit from this property in a central location in Sofia to flow out in the river".
It is a crime in the present state to have hold of property that can bring great revenue, he added.
Among the parameters of the concession is also the requirement that during the designing process of the spa-center the concessionaire must comply with the parameters of the building and keep its appearance and the location of the premises.
In the draft treaty all strengthening and restoration activities whose total value is about 6 million BGL will be made by the concessionaire.
