Bulgaria assigns more money for Bulgarians living abroad

Bulgaria will assign a lot more funds to execute its policy about Bulgarians living abroad.
It was pronounced by Ivaylo Kalfin, Depute Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Bulgaria.
This new initiative has been synchronized with representatives of many Bulgarian communities overseas.
Government in Bulgaria will create a special Fund allowing Bulgarian communities abroad to apply with their business ventures. Minimum resources available to the Fund will be BGN 5 M with expectations that these resources to increase in the future.
Other measures include special green cards allowing Bulgarians living abroad to enter the country and utilize the labor market.
Rules and restrictions for issuing of Bulgarian passports will be tightened, according to the Minister's statement. Such document will be issued only after proving Bulgarian origin and will be received only on Bulgarian territory.
For the time being at the Foreign Ministry there are 60 000 applications for Bulgarian passports.
Number of scholarships for Bulgarians living abroad who would like to study in Bulgarian colleges and universities will increase as well, while the Ministry of Education and Science is geared up to send teachers and lecturers for Bulgarian minorities abroad.
Bulgarian consulate in Pristina is expected to open till the end of the month allowing Bulgarians living in Kossovo to apply for visas.
