Israel negotiates with Gazprom a framework agreement for natural gas supply to the Jewish State over the next 20-30 years, said in an interview for the Russian newspaper "Komersant" Israeli Minister of National Infrastructure Binyamin Ben-Eliezer.
Answering a question about the concrete results achieved during his meetings in "Gazprom", he said: "We are negotiating for a framework agreement in accordance with which we will carry out gas supplies to Israel for the next 20-30 years. Now we are in the final stage of preparation of the agreement. I hope that in the coming months we will sign it and will start a concrete job. "
Ben-Eliezer said that Israel intended to purchase originally 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Russia. "But Israel does not consider using natural gas only in powerplants. We use it actively in industry. So in the future we plan to increase the supplies to 8-10 billion cubic meters along with the growing consumption, revealed the Israeli Infrastructure Minister, who was on a visit to Russia.
