IOC to probe doping claim on Beijing hammer medallists

IOC to probe doping claim on Beijing hammer medallists The International Olympic Committee is investigating doping allegations against the silver and bronze medallists in the men's hammer throw at the Beijing Games.

IOC spokeswoman Emmanuelle Moreau told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa Thursday the disciplinary commission would discuss the case at the end of September.

It follows a report by the Russian news agency Allsport that Belarussians Vadim Devyatovskiy and Ivan Tsikhan tested positive for testosterone after the hammer final.

Devyatovskiy won the silver medal and Tsikhan the bronze, with gold going to the Slovenian Primoz Kozmus.

Belarussian Athletics Federation spokeswoman Anastasiya Marinina said the athletes rejected the allegations.
