Iran on Wednesday once again warned Israel with retaliation in case of a military attack on its nuclear sites, Mehr news agency reported.
It quoted the commander of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guards, General Mohammad Ali Jafari, as saying that if Israel endangered Iran's interests, the Islamic state would make the whole of Israeli territory "unsafe."
The general's comments came in response to renewed reports that the United States and Israel might attack the main Iranian nuclear sites, because Tehran refused to suspend its uranium-enrichment programme.
Jafari said Israel would be within the range of Iranian missiles, and warned there was no way it could defend against an Iranian onslaught.
Iran's medium-range Shahab-3 missile reportedly has a range of between 1,300 and 2,000 kilometres and is said to be able to reach any part of Israeli territory.
The general has several times warned Israel that it is within the range of Iranian missiles, and threatened retaliation for any Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites.
He said it would mean start of a war "and the Iranian reaction would definitely make the enemy regret both its decision and action."
Jafari also warned that Iran would block the oil-export route in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz if attacked. The blockade would trigger a worldwide energy crisis.
