In April the index of producer prices on the domestic market had increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported. In the processing industry this jump was by 0.4% toward March 2008.
2% is the increase in prices in the manufacture of wood and articles thereof, without furniture, in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment and in the manufacture of products from other non-metallic mineral products amendment is +1.3 and +1.2%. Prices in the production of foodstuffs and beverages have increased by 0.9 percent.
On an annual basis, the index of producer prices in the domestic market in April had increased by 13.6 percent. In the processing industry during the past month domestic prices increased by 16.3% over the month of 2007.
For the last year, the most significant price increase is in the production of foodstuffs and drinks - by 24 percent.
In the other activities of the processing industry there is a relatively higher price increase over April 2007 in the manufacture of electrical machinery and apparatus (by 14.9%), production of metal products, except machinery and equipment (by 14.2%), production of wood and articles thereof, without furniture (with 12.5%).
The increase in the manufacture of pulp, paper, cardboard and paper products and cardboard was 10.2%, the products of non-metallic mineral products by 8.9%, production of machinery, equipment and household appliances by 8.0% and production of chemical products - with 7.2 per cent.
The overall index of producer prices in April 2008 compared the previous month had increased by 0.2%. Increased prices in the production of food and drink - by 0.9% in the manufacture of products from other non-metallic minerals - by 1.5% in the production of metal products, except machinery and equipment - by 1.3% in the manufacture of wood products and thereof, without furniture - by 1.2% and in the manufacture of machinery, equipment and household appliances - by 1.1%.
The overall index of producer prices in April 2008 toward the same month of 2007 had increased by 13.3%. In the processing industry in April 2008 compared to the corresponding month of last year, producer prices rose by 14.2%.
The increase in prices of consumer products toward April 2007 is 10%, in prices of intermediate products for consumption - by 7.1% and in those of investment products - by 5.3%. The increase in prices of energy products to the month of the previous year was 23.7 percent.
Indices of producer prices measure an average change in prices of industrial products produced and sold by Bulgarian enterprises. Indices can be seen as an early sign of inflation and be used for international comparisons, indicated from NSI.
