Rumours that injury-prone star Ronaldo next year may play again in the Serie A have gathered steam after he talked about his future to Brazilian media.
The 32-year-old striker is training with Flamengo in Rio De Janeiro as he completes his recovery from surgery he underwent to treat a knee injury suffered early this year at AC Milan.
The 32-year-old has reportedly received offers from Manchester City and Paris St. Germain, but Ronaldo said that "there is also an Italian club, which is not Milan, though."
The Milanese Devils did not renew his contract after it expired in June, but rumours involved mid-level sides Sampdoria and Siena.
La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, Tuesday quoted managers of the two clubs as denying a possible signing of Ronaldo.
Further speculation involves Roma, as a player from the Rome side is believed to have asked Ronaldo about his future plans.
The footballer's agent, Fabiano Farah, refused to provide details. "All I can say is that Ronaldo is training to be ready for November 17. On that day in Fez (Morocco) Ronaldo's friends will play against (Zinedine) Zidane's friends (in a benefit game), then we'll see," he said.
"There have been no contacts with Italian clubs as first we want to be sure that the recovery is complete. Then, everything will be clearer, but I don't know anything about Samp and Siena."
Ronaldo, a two-time Golden Ball winner, scored nine goals in the 20 games played at Milan since joining them from Real Madrid in January 2007.
After a couple of minor injuries hindered him in the early part of the 2007-2008 season, he tore the rotula tendon in his left knee during a Serie A game in February.
He had suffered a similar incident, twice undergoing surgery, in his right knee during his stint at Inter Milan. In November 1999, he badly damaged his knee tendon, which tore completely as he returned to the pitch in April 2000.
Injuries aside, Ronaldo remains an incredibly prolific striker, boasting 278 goals from the 422 games he played with Cruzeiro, PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Inter, Real and Milan.
