Around 60 mostly Polish football fans and several Slovakian police officers were injured in clashes before and after Wednesday night's World Cup qualifier between Slovakia and Poland, local media reported Thursday.
The TA3 television station report based its figures on the statements of witnesses as well as hospital and police reports.
However, the official spokeswoman for the Slovakian police force refused to confirm the numbers, saying only that there were "several" arrests and that "several police officers and private security guards were also injured".
Thousands of Polish fans traveled to Slovakia for the qualifier, which the host nation won 2-1. UEFA had classified as the tie as high risk.
