Solana and Ban Ki-moon will discuss the role of the UN and the EU in Kosovo

High commissioner for international policy Javier Solana announced that he would talk with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday to discuss the role of the EU and the UN in Kosovo.

"I'll probably meet with UN Secretary-General on Thursday and we will see how things will continue in the UN," said Solana at a meeting of EU ministers of foreign affairs. He recalled that the UN mission in Kosovo, UNMIK had been there since 1999 pursuant to resolution 1244 of the SC as well as the included in February European Judicial Police and mission.
