Trezeguet to undergo surgery, Buffon pulls muscle

Juventus striker David Trezeguet is Tuesday to undergo knee surgery to treat a damaged knee tendon, the Turin club's web site wrote.

The French forward, who turns 31 on October 15, hurt his right knee Wednesday during a Champions League game that Juve won 1-0 over Russian guests Zenit.

The team's medical staff was quoted as saying that "after the operation David will stop for 15 days and in the following 15, 20 days will go through a specific rehabilitation treatment.

"Recovery time range between three and a half months and a maximum of five."

Also missing for a couple of games is international goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who pulled a muscle during a Serie A weekend game at Cagliari. Buffon, 30, is expected back in about 10 days.
